The Opportunity

The University of St Andrews is seeking an enthusiastic, multi-lingual, and highly-motivated professional to join the International team in Admissions as a Senior Education Liaison Officer. A natural forward planner who is capable of work towards a shared vision which adds value to the existing activity of the team, the post holder is also self-driven, agile, professional, authentic and team-oriented. 

The Role

This challenging post will attract applicants that have demonstrated experience of working within the Scottish HE sector within China and with Chinese students, driven and pro-active with excellent literacy, presentation and communication skills in English and Chinese. It is essential that the post holder have at least three years’ experience in developing, and managing Chinese education marketing, Chinese student recruitment, and understanding of Chinese qualifications for admissions to ensure we continue to attract the most academically abl eapplicants to the University. The post holder will also have demonstrated experience of working within an admissions environment and provide guidance on Chinese qualifications. You must have strong translation skills from English to Chinese language. Successful candidates will have experience of working withthe Chinese Scholarship Council, working with Chinese universities and funding bodies. An understanding of the University of St Andrews degree structure,research, and Scottish educational environment is key. 

Responsibility 

As a Senior Education Liaison Officer you will be reporting directly to the Director of International Admissions. You will focus on Chinese student recruitment to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at St Andrews. The presentation of information in an accurate and tailored manner for a Chinese audiences is an area of key importance to the university’s strategic delivery of admissions plans and targets. This role will support and manage the reputation and perception of the University of St Andrews in China accurately and will compliantly portray the teaching, learning and student experience.

Requirement

The post-holder will be required to undertake extensive international travel to China and must bring with them the proven ability to build Chinese relationships in a variety of geographic and cultural contexts.
