Job Description

Sanrio Global Ltd is looking for a talented and experienced multi-disciplined artist to join our London team. Working directly with our Head of Design based in the UK and our Asia offices, the candidate would be responsible for creative and artistic output of the company across a range of media, ensuring the highest quality of work and in line with the overall brand vision but delivered in a fresh and innovative way continuously pushing the brand. 

The candidate will work across our vast portfolio of Hello Kitty, Sanrio Classics and Mr. Men Little Miss; whilst immersing yourself in the brand you will be able to support the team by producing and directing artwork for styleguides, promotions and pitches. The candidate being fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin in writing and speaking you will create concepts, design and approve artwork for our Hong Kong office to meet demands of our Asian subsidiaries. The candidate will have the skills to create small to large scale artwork for print whilst keeping everything on brand. The candidates artistic abilities is not limited by the computer, putting pen and paint brushes to canvas is well within your comfort zone to create unique pieces. 

The candidate will be an extremely agile person with exceptional artistic skills and a track record of pushing a brand from paper, print to animation and beyond. The candidate will have previously worked with great agencies and renowned brands and now looking for a new challenge.The candidate should have the willingness to propose new directions, solutions and concepts while interpreting and elevating the brand on all mediums of design.

Skills, Qualifications And Experience Needed

• Experience ideally working in-house / brand-side or agency 

• Bachelor degree in a directly related field such as art and design and illustration

• Fluent (written and spoken) in English, Cantonese, Mandarin & Japanese

• Expert in Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Powerpoint, Keynote, Flash animation

• Strong character design background

• Artistic skills which include concept sketching, story boards, painting, clay modelling, drawing, storyboard with animation skills

• Able to create small to large scale artwork for print and liaise with printers directly

• Translate the brands essence into a consistent visual language

• Knowledge of super current industry trends

• Must be confident to be able to articulate creative ideas and sell into senior management

• Play a critical role in this brands design and artistic evolution

• Experience in a similar role in an agency / creative studio environment

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to self-manage from concept to creation

• Ability to work on multiple projects to tight deadlines

• Believes in the brand and has the desire to elevate it

• Love of Sanrio characters and philosophy
