给家长的一封信

Dear parents,

The exams of yourchildren are to start soon.  I know youare all anxious for your child to do well.

亲爱的家长，大考就要开始了，我知道你们每个人都希望自己的孩子能考好。

But, please do remember, amongst the students who will be sitting for the exams, there is an artist, who doesn’t need to understand Math… …; There is an entrepreneur who doesn’t care about History or English Literature… …; There is a musician, whose Chemistry marks won’t matter… …There is an athlete, whose physical fitness is more important than physics…

但是，请记住，在考生当中，会有一位艺术家，他的数学不用那么好；会有一位企业家，他对英语或者历史也许不那么感兴趣；会有一位音乐家，化学对他可能也没有那么重要；也会有一位出色的运动员，他的身体体能比所学的物理更重要。

If your child does get top marks, that’s great!  But if he or she doesn’t, please don’t take away their self-confidence and dignity from them.  Tell them it’s OK, it’s just an exam!  They are cut out for much bigger things in life.  Tell them no matter what they score, you love them and will not judge them.

如果你的孩子能得高分，那很好；但如果他得不了高分，您也千万不要伤害他的自信心和尊严。告诉他们，没考好没什么，只是一次考试嘛。他们每个人来到这个世界上都有比考分更加远大的目的和使命。告诉他们不管他们考得怎样，得什么分数，您都爱他，而且不会以此来评判他。

Please do this, and when you do, watch your children conquer the world.  One exam or a low mark won’t take away their dreams and talent.  And please, do not think the doctors or engineers are the only happy people in the world.

请您一定按我说的去做。你这样做之后，你就可以静观你的孩子去征服世界。一次考试或者一次低分，不会夺走他们的梦想和才能。也请您不要认为，这世界上只有医生和工程师们才是幸福快乐的人。

你不比别人早，也不比别人晚，你只是跟着自己的节奏和步伐

New York is 3 hours ahead of California, 

but it does not make California slow. 

纽约时间比加州时间早三个小时， 

但加州时间并没有变慢。 

Someone graduated at the age of 22, 

but waited 5 years before securing a good job! 

有人22岁就毕业了， 

但等了五年才找到好的工作！

Someone became a CEO at 25, 

and died at 50. 

有人25岁就当上CEO， 

却在50岁去世。 

While another became a CEO at 50, 

and lived to 90 years. 

也有人迟到50岁才当上CEO， 

然后活到90岁。 

Someone is still single, 

while someone else got married. 

有人依然单身， 

同时也有人已婚。 

Obama retires at 55, 

but Trump starts at 70. 

奥巴马55岁就退休， 

川普70岁才开始当总统。 

Absolutely everyone in this world works based on their Time Zone. 

People around you might seem to go ahead of you, 

some might seem to be behind you. 

But everyone is running their own RACE, in their own TIME. 

世上每个人本来就有自己的发展时区

身边有些人看似走在你前面，

也有人看似走在你后面。 

但其实每个人在自己的时区有自己的步程。 

Don’t envy them or mock them. 

They are in their TIME ZONE, and you are in yours! 

不用嫉妒或嘲笑他们。 

他们都在自己的时区里，你也是！ 

Life is about waiting for the right moment to act. 

So, RELAX. 

生命就是等待正确的行动时机。

所以，放轻松。  

You’re not LATE. 

You’re not EARLY. 

You are very much ON TIME, and inyour TIME ZONE Destiny set up for you.

你没有落后。 

你没有领先。 

在命运为你安排的属于自己的时区里，一切都准时。
