国际访问者公众讲座：拾荒人、城市化和环境保护 / Waste Collectors, Urbanization and Environmental Protection
此讲座将用中文进行。
过去 30多年的快速发展中，垃圾成为我们不得不面对的问题，垃圾围城，垃圾围村比比皆是。在讨论垃圾分类管理解决垃圾混合处理的困境时，有一群被遗忘的人群，那就是城市里的拾荒体系。过去近30年，这些从农村到城市的农民，靠他们勤劳的双手，回收了生活垃圾中近30%的可回收物，大大减少了进入垃圾填埋场和焚烧厂的垃圾量，从而实现了环境保护。到2016年，全国有600多万拾荒人，其中北京有近20多万，意味着1位拾荒人服务着100人左右的垃圾分类回收工作。他们如何为城市实现垃圾减量，他们在城市化中如何生存，在以市场化为导向的废品回收日益萎缩的今天，在北京的环境保护日益被看重的今天，这些为城市做了30多年贡献的拾荒人又将何去何从，是我们城市管理中需要关注的。
Over the past three decades, waste has been a big challenge for China’s urbanization. Source separation to achieve more recycling is the solution to the waste issues. However, most people are not clear how waste collectors and recyclers have contributed to our recycling, 30% of waste components, and make waste reuse and recycle possible, when they came to cities from the countryside. By 2016, there are over 6 million waste collectors in China, and 200,000 in Beijing. That means one waste picker serves over 100 citizens in this city. In this talk, the real life of waste collectors in Beijing will be covered and their future will be significance for China’s waste management to go zero waste when we pay more attention to environmental protection.
讲者简介： 陈立雯， 2009年开始在公益环保组织工作，并开始跟踪研究北京的拾荒人群和垃圾分类，目前在北京零废弃工作，推动农村垃圾分类工作。
Speaker: Chen Liwen has worked in environmental NGO since 2009, and researched in recycling and waste collectors since then. Currently, she works for Beijing Zero Waste and promotes source separation in the countryside.
