Vacancy 1: New Zealand Embassy Representation Centre Manager

 

The New Zealand Embassy in Beijing is looking for a New Zealand Representation Centre Manager to provide representation management and executive chef and catering services for functions and events which are to be held at the Embassy’s newly-built Representation Centre. 

 

This is an exciting, high profile and career making opportunity for someone with executive chef/function management experience to be involved in showcasing New Zealand and its products in China.

 

The job involves managing the embassy’s representation centre and functions, including through executive chef catering, preparation of menus, function planning, management and oversight of events, and utilising New Zealand produce and beverages to showcase the best of modern New Zealand cuisine.

 

A suitable candidate will have excellent knowledge of New Zealand produce and menu planning, and experience in using NZ products in catering for large functions and events to a high standard. A knowledge of Chinese would also be beneficial but is not essential to this role.   

 

This is a local six month contract, starting as soon as possible. Accommodation is not provided. Salary is negotiable, depending on skills and experience. For the right person, this is an excellent opportunity.

Vacancy 2: New Zealand Embassy Visits and Events Officer

 

The New Zealand Embassy in Beijing is looking for a Visits and Events Officer to assist with logistics and programme development for official visits to China and making arrangements for events and functions held at the embassy.

 

This is a busy job for someone who is organised, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and has good attention to detail and enjoys being involved in high profile embassy events contributing to New Zealand’s relationship with China. The ability to work as a team player is central to the role.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent Chinese and English, with experience in events, functions and programme planning and logistics management.   

 

This is a local six month contract, starting as soon as possible. Accommodation is not provided.
