The panel will be conducted in English.  Simultaneous translation into Chinese will be offered.

A recent study found that the Fortune 500 companies which have the highest representation of female members on their boards of directors had significantly better financial performance than companies with the lowest representation of female directors.  Female representation is especially important in the field of media, because societal attitudes about gender role may be influenced by how news and entertainment companies portray women.  How do successful women in the media industry view the role of women in media, and what advice do they have for the current generation of women who seek successful careers?

Please join us at the Beijing American Center for a conversation with some of China’s highest-profile businesswomen, in honor of Women’s History Month.  This panel of leaders from many different types of media companies will discuss their career paths, outline the challenges facing women in the corporate world, and explain what their organizations are doing to create inclusive workplaces.  This event will be an opportunity for emerging leaders to increase awareness about gender equality, think strategically about your own career, and learn how leading women are driving positive change.
