1. 为什么“连贯性”是写作关键? 考官最关注什么？ （ 这一个部分比较长，如果你不喜欢研究报告，请直接阅读第二部分)
1.1 雅思考试委员会对于“CC”评分项目的重视
2008年，雅思官方的一项目研究，调查了现任雅思写作评分老师关注的CC评分项目，以及哪一些项目是他们最看重的。 雅思考试委员会，将这份资料发布到了官方网站，可以看出，官方对于这份调查的重视程度。
1.2. 亚洲学生CC普遍不好
由于中文以及东南亚的其他语言体系中，我们习惯使用”parrellel progression"（平行递进）去分析问题，然而西方喜欢使用“sequential progression”(顺序性递进） 去分析题目， 这样导致了大部分亚洲学生的作文，缺乏“逻辑”。 并且，很多学生无法理解“逻辑”到底是什么意思？
本篇文章，对于2008年雅思官方CC的研究做了详细的分析，并且采用了大量语言学－logical progression（逻辑递进） 的学术研究，希望可以帮助大家更好的理解“逻辑递进”－CC中考官最关注的方面
1.3 什么是连贯性？
官方给的图片解释：
Coherence: the connection of ideas at the idea level， Ideas follow a logical sequence 观点是不是按照”逻辑“顺序排列
Cohesion:the connection of ideas at the sentence level. Use varied and appropriate use of cohesive devices
包括两个层面的意思：正确使用（没有语法错误）＋ 多样性
下面的段落，为大家解释了coherence 和 cohesion 的不同点： （选择免费课程L37） 收交通拥堵（congestion tax)的弊端
Requiring people to pay for congestion tax(a) may cause public dissatisfaction with the government(c). For example, 1 year ago, in Beijing, it was the implementation of a congestion fee (a) that increased travelling and logistics costs(b). This additional expense(b) imposed a financial burden on households and companies(c), which led to public discontent against the authorities(d).
Coherence:
sequence of idea ( 按照时间顺序，一个动作接着一个动作发生）
a. pay for congestion tax （缴纳交通税）
b.increased traveling and logistics costs (加强交通和物流成本）
c. impose a financial burden on households and companies ( 为个人和公司加了经济成本）
d. public discontent against the authorities (公众对于政府的不满）
词组按照动作发生的顺序排列，缴纳费用 导致 成本高 导致经 济压力大 导致对于政府不满
缴纳交通税
加强交通和物流成本
为个人和公司加了经济成本
公众对于政府的不满
Cohesion: cohesive devices that connect abc
Cohesive devices : 可以把词组链接起来的结构，比如if ..then .., 比如， which 定语从句等,上面段落中红色部分为cohesive devices
上面的段落反映了cohesion的2点：
1. correct use of cohesive devices , 没有语法错误
2. use various types of cohesive devices, 使用了以下3中cohesive devices
强调句：正是因为...的发生，导致了..的发生： It is …that ….
指代： This additional expense
定语从句： which
1.4 考官关注连贯性的哪些方面？
2008年官方研究报告结果：报告针对现任50为考官，让他们回答有关于CC打分的考虑方面
1. 考官共关注以下6个方面， 最重要的是logical progression 和 flow
数据表明： 55%的考官（共33人） 将logical progression 排列在了第一或者第二位
2. 考官认为logical progression 和 flow是一样的！
结论：CC最重要的方面是Logical progression !!!
1.5 为什么连贯性占写作评分的75% ？
结合上面的研究结果，以及雅思写作评分标注（附件）
我把其他评分项目的具体描述和CC的6大方面做了比较，比较的结果如下
每个圈圈是一个评分小项目： lexical, task response, Grammar，CC
所有白色字体的是每个小项目中和CC相关的描述
经过这样的分析，我发现，CC实际上和其他3个评分项目都有关系！！！
也就是说，如果CC不好，其他几个项目分数都会受到影响
比如，在Lexical(词汇运用）方面，要求我们准确运用词汇，如果我们的abc词组有不恰当的表达，在Lexical上面肯定会丢分。 同时，有因为，不准确的表达影响了abc之间的关系，这样CC的成绩也会低。
E.g. 如果我们把下面的abc词组，d中的一个单词“ discontent” 记成了” distant” （有距离的） 或者“discount” （折扣） ，那么，考官是不会认为你是spelling 的问题！！！ 而是CC和lexical 都有问题！
这个很重要！ 因为你拼写错误的词，是一个有具体意思的词，而不是一个拼写错误的词
e.g. discontant-这个是拼写错误，因为没有discontant这个词。
a. pay for congestion tax （缴纳交通税）
b.increased traveling and logistics costs (加强交通和物流成本）
c. impose a financial burden on households and companies ( 为个人和公司加了经济成本）
d. public discontent against the authorities (公众对于政府的不满）
(distant/discount: CC/Lexical 丢分数。discontant: Lexical 丢分数）
2. 如何提高“连贯性” ？
我这里讨论的是最少input, 最大output, 如果我们6个方面都提高，没有重点，这样就会导致”事倍功半“
所以，我们只需要提高最最最重要的一个项目就可以了－Logical Progression
2.1 logical progression 的意思
（ 不喜欢读科学分析的同学,跳过这里，直接读2. 考官范文分析)
刚接触这个词，我也不知道是什么意思…
然后，我查了很多语言学研究的文献，了解到以下几点 （附件）
Logical progression有3种类形式：PP，EP， EPP
PP: Parallel （平行）progression：
句子里面的核心词，描述一样或者相似的意思！
Example :
Chocolates are a national craving. (需求量大）
Records show that they are sold in huge quantities –11.2 pounds per capita per year.
Designer chocolates often sell for nearly $30 per pound.
分析：－提炼每个句子的逻辑词
Chocolates-carving
they－11.2
Designer chocolates－30
符号表示：
a-b(craving)
a’-b’(用11.2说明craving)
a’’-b’’( 30$ 说明craving)
3组a-b都是同义词！
EP: Sequential （先后顺序） progression
Example:
I saw a strange man on the street.
He was wearing a large badge.
The badge was multicolored and gaudy.
分析：
I－strange man
He- badge
badge ..
符号表示：
a-b
b-c
c-d
第一个句子的strange man, 在第二个句子做了主语He, 第二个句子的badge, 在第三个句子做了主语badge.
EPP: Extended parallel （平行＋先后） progression
Example:
(1) Body language varies from culture to culture. (2) To say yes, Americans nod their heads up and down. (3) Japanese and Italians use the same nod to say no. (4) Body language is an important skill for international managers.
分析：
Body language －from culture to culture
Americans－
Japanese－
Body language－important for international mangers
第一个和第二个主语是parrelel 的结构,中间两个 Americans ，和第一句里面的 from culture to culture平行的，是Body language 发生以后的逻辑点，所以他们和Body language 是 sequential progression “先后顺序”递进。
2.2 “雅思考官范文“如何体现 " logical progression”
我们只需要用以上相同的方法，分析雅思考官的范文就OK了！

Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on young children. Do you agree or disagree ?
主体段落截取：
However, the main concern is about the type of computer activities that attract children. These are often electronic games that tend to be very intense and rather violent. The player is usually the “ hero” of the game and too much exposure can encourage children to be self-centred and insensitive to others.
Even when children use a computer for other purposes, such as getting information or emailing friends, it is no substitute for human interaction. Spending time with other children and sharing non-virtual experiences is an important part of a child development that cannot be provided by a computer.

所以content 和下面一句的 “ player “都是对于games 的具体描述，是一个逻辑层次
Even when children use a computer for other purposes, such as getting information or emailing friends, it is no substitute for human interaction. Spending time with other children and sharing non-virtual experiences is an important part of a child development that cannot be provided by a computer.

In spite of this, the obvious benefits of computer skills for young children cannot be denied. Their adult world will be changing constantly in terms of technology and the internet is the key to all the knowledge and information available in the world today. Therefore it is important that children learn at an early age to use the equipment enthusiastically and with confidence as they will need theses skills throughout their studies and working lives.

所以，我们现在的问题是如何提高"Sequential progression"
也就是说如何创建这样的结构：

c-d
但是，这样的结构有一个问题。 每个句子只有2个逻辑词，我们的很多高分衔接结构比如，定语从句，都没有办法应用。 于是，我把结构改成了下面这个样子：
a-c
a-b-c
或者
a-d
a-b-c-d
同时，我们可以加入cohesive devices－针对cohesion
a verb c
a verb b, which c
每次拿到题目的时候，大家先写出下面的planning, 并且把所有的cohesive devices 固定住， 就可以在10分钟内结束planning, 25分钟内写完全篇的文章了。
因为每次大家都是用一样的cohesive devices, 考场上会节省很多思考句子结构的时间。同时，考前针对自己的cohesive devices练习一下相关的语法，就会避免语法错误。
例子：
2012.10.13
Many countries have people from different cultural and ethnic groups. Is this a positive or negative development?
Structure: Yes/No-positive development
Intro: Background+My opinion: positive development
Body 1:

a. having people from different groups within a given society

编写abc词组？
abc词组由3个以上词组组成，
词组按照动作发生的顺序排列。
比如，Elearning 的好处，大家可以用以下词组：
a: online learning
b: eliminate the time spent on traveling to schools
c: help students better juggle studies and other parts of life
a先发生（在线学习)
b再发生（节省时间）
c再发生（更好平衡生活）
abc词组的关键有两点
1.“精准”不要追求“高大上”的表达
比如在我们表达“ 接触外国文化” 的时候,使用“ Having the exposure of foreign cultures”, “ exposure” 这个词，还可以用在“暴力画面”If children are constantly exposed to violent images, they will imitate them in daily lives.
这样的词汇,简单,准确,可以多次应用,又不"高大上"
2. 必须按照时间顺序
a发生,b发生,c再发生的时间顺序
如果上面Elearning的好处，大家跳过b 直接写c
Online learning helps students bla bla ..
考官很有可能会认为你的观点解释不清晰,在连贯度上面丢分
所以,一定要按照顺序排列词组
中国同学的难点是经常想不出b,或者abc顺序错误
但是,上面的2点,都是我们的薄弱环节，大部分学生没有“精准的词组”储备，或者经常找到不到"b"
