About the Speaker: 


Carl Wegner, Managing Director, Head of Global Transaction Banking, Greater China, Deutsche Bank. Wegner is responsible for driving the strategic growth of the Bank’s GTB business across Greater China and for helping realize its ambitious aspirations for the transaction banking business in the region. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, most of which was with appointments covering the Asia Pacific region, particularly Greater China locations such as Hong Kong, Shanghai and Taipei. In addition to a career in banking, Wegner ran Trade Card's financial and network services for Asia Pacific. He was educated in the U.S. and Taiwan and is fluent in Chinese.


Denise Zhou, currently a Senior Vice President RMB Internationalization in HSBC's China Connectivity team located in Shanghai, indicated her expertise includes advising Businesses in Mainland China, Hong Kong and internationally on the opportunities created by the development of a global role for China’s currency and China's financial reforms. Since commencing her role in RMB Internationalization in 2011, Ms Zhou has worked with some of HSBC's largest domestic and international customers to develop cross-border RMB solutions for trade, capital transactions, treasury and funding in both onshore and offshore markets. Having a strong knowledge of China's regulatory system and financial reforms, she has assisted many global clients to navigate the rapidly evolving regulatory environment within China and the new options presented by the growth of the offshore RMB market and China's financial open-up.
