You may know about Abraham Lincoln from the history books, but what do you know about how he lived? 

At Lincoln Home National Historic Site, you can get a view into his life. The home, which is preserved as it was when he lived in it, contains artifacts and photos from the time period that speak to his struggles while guides in period appropriate costumes provide interesting details on Lincoln and the American Civil War. 

While you’re there, you can also visit Lincoln tomb to pay your respects to the man who freed the slaves and helped hold America together through four years of bitter Civil War.
