This program will be conducted in English.

The American political process is guided by a constitution that clearly defines what powers each branch of government has.  There is no one institution that is all-powerful. Instead, the President, Congress, and the Supreme Court all have an important role in creating laws and making political decisions in the United States.  Join us at the Beijing American Center for a talk that will provide an overview of how the U.S. Constitution divides power among the three branches of government, describing the roll each branch plays and how they work together both in domestic and international affairs. The talk will be given by David Schultz, a professor of political science and law at Hamline University and the University of Minnesota.
