Welcome to the University of Sydney!
We invite you to attend the International Student Welcome for full-degree undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Sydney in Semester 2, 2015.
TUESDAY 21 JULY 2015
10.30am – 1.30pm
The Great Hall, Quadrangle
During the ceremony, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Registrar) of the University of Sydney, Professor Tyrone Carlin, will welcome you to the University community. You will also receive advice to ensure you soon feel at home in Australia and hear from the USU about how to get involved in the extra-curricular opportunities, clubs and societies they offer through their ACCESS card program.
Please register by Monday 20 July to ensure your place. On the day, students are requested to arrive by 10.20am to be seated for 10.30am.
After the welcome, kick off your time at Sydney with a uniquely Australian event! Come down to The Square for a BBQ hosted by Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness (SUSF) before AFL NSW/ACT introduces you to the legendary game of Australian Rules! If you are coming to the BBQ, make sure you dress comfortably so you can jump, punt and hand ball your way through the afternoon.
We strongly recommend that you also attend one of the Arrival Information Sessions, which are being held on Friday 17 July and Thursday 23 July from 10am - 2.30pm. For more information, see the International Student Orientation page.
And don't forget to check out ODay to experience a day of food, music, stalls, activities and performances, hosted by the USU.
