Account Manager

The primary role of the MasterCard New Zealand team is to work with cardissuers and acquirers, typically banks, to grow the number of MasterCardbranded cards in market and increase the volume of transactions on those cards.

Purpose of the role

o Support a structured needs-based relationship management approach, includingstrategic sales management and analyzing business opportunities to increasecardholder spend volume and market share

o Identify and promote business development opportunities that will drivemutual revenue growth

o Coordinate brand building and product / program development between theCustomer and internal MasterCard contacts

Role

• The management of a structured Customer Relationship Management approach, throughwhich MasterCard differentiates itself as a Business Partner with Customerfinancial institutions

• Identify opportunities and assist in design and setting of marketingstrategies, product ideas and tactics for delivery against the Customer’sobjectives. Oversee and lead all phases of project management for theimplementation process from concept through rollout

• Proactively identify issuer challenges and identify/propose/developMasterCard solutions that solve for these challenges and enhance mutualprofitability

• Support the Senior Account Managers in the execution of their plans againsttheir customer base

• Manage inbound MasterCard licensing queries from inquiry through to executionof the MasterCard licensing process

• Formulate and manage business level and Customer level data analytics

All About You

• Expert relationship management experience including the use of consultativeselling strategies

• Proven ability to develop and implement revenue-generating sales strategies

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with senior management

• Logical and detailed thinker with good active listening skills and welldeveloped business acumen

• Excellent analytical skills

• Ability to understand and operate in a fast paced, payments environment witha good understanding of the cards market, its key competitive forces, futuretrends and financial drivers
