这首歌原名是甲壳虫乐队的灵魂人物约翰列侬和妻子于1971年圣诞节前的一天写出的作品，次日晨进录音室录制完成。这首歌当时是为反越战而作，却意外成为西方圣诞歌曲中经久不衰的经典名曲“And so this is Christmas”.
