来上海美国中心一起庆祝冬日假期的来临吧！本期电影夜活动中，我们将放映奇幻家庭喜剧《圣诞精灵》(Elf)，放映前，来自领馆的外交官会向大家介绍这部影片以及作为文化大熔炉的美国都有哪些不同的冬季节日文化和庆祝方式。影片放映结束后设有提问环节。

Come celebrate the holiday season at the Shanghai American Center with aspecial screening of the spirited family comedy film Elf. An American diplomatwill introduce the film, and briefly talk about the different traditions peoplein the United States have during the holiday season and the different wayspeople celebrate. There will be a Q&A session after the screening.

2003年出品的《圣诞精灵》由威尔·法瑞尔、詹姆斯·肯恩、佐伊·丹斯切尔等人主演，讲述的是身为圣诞老人精灵的Buddy偶然得知自己并非精灵而是人类，于是踏上从北极到纽约寻找家人的旅程，过程中将圣诞的欢乐气氛带给了这个显得有些冷漠的现实世界。

Elf is a 2003 American comedy film starring Will Ferrell, James Caan and ZooeyDeschanel. It is a story about one of Santa’s elves who learns of his trueidentity as a human and travels from the North Pole to New York City to meethis biological father, spreading Christmas cheer in a world of cynics as hegoes.

根据国际教育协会的数据，中国学生在美国高中留学生中的占比超过三成。越来越多的中国家长和学生把去美国念高中看成是提高英语水平、学习不同文化、并最终进入美国高等教育系统的途径。本次讲座中，我们的EducationUSA教育专员将和一名美国高中生一起和大家聊聊美国的高中、以及如何充分利用高中阶段来为报考美国大学作准备等话题。

According to the Institute forInternational Education, Chinese students make up over 30% of the totalinternational students in American high schools.  With this trend, manyChinese parents and their children are looking at the U.S. high schools as apossibility for improving their English, learning about a different culture,and eventually moving into America’s higher education system.  Toexplore this trend, the Shanghai American Center is proud to host a sessionfeaturing both our EducationUSA advisor and a current American high schoolsenior to talk about the realities of high school, as well as admissions andhow to leverage U.S. high school into attendance at an American college oruniversity.

本次活动中，上海美国中心和EducationUSA请来了佩珀代因大学（Pepperdine University）Graziadi商学院的CiciXi Wang来为大家做一个有关如何成功申请美国商学院的讲座。讲座中，Cici会介绍选择商学院项目的关键考量因素、阐述商学院申请流程、分享让申请脱颖而出的方法等等，为大家成功申请美国商学院助力。此外，如果你也好奇在美国念商科究竟是一种什么样的体验，Cici还会谈到美国MBA学生的学习和社交生活。

The ShanghaiAmerican Center and EducationUSA are proud to welcome Cici Xi Wang, fromGraziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University on January6th for an information session focused on strategies to prepare a winningapplication to business schools in the U.S.  At this session, Cici willdiscuss the key factors to consider when choosing a graduate business program,clearly outline the business school admissions process, discuss ways to improveyour application, and provide insight on how to develop strategies for successwhen applying for U.S. business programs.  In addition, Cici will alsospeak about the academic and social life of MBA students on campus in theU.S.
