美国真人秀类电视节目还包括歌唱比赛。福克斯广播公司从2002年起开始播出的“美国偶像”现在已经是第15季，也是最后一季了。

“美国偶像”已经成为美国电视史上最成功的节目之一。节目选拔歌唱新星，由唱片制作人、明星，和流行歌手组成评审对参赛选手进行评判，由观众通过电话、网络和短信投票选出冠军。

“美国之声”是NBC 播出的歌唱竞赛类电视真人秀，它的原版是荷兰的“荷兰之声”，通过公开海选选拔15岁以上、有追求的歌手（个人或组合均可）。

American reality TV genre also includes singing competitions.  American Idol, began airing on Fox in 2002 and is now in its 15th and final season.  

It has become one of the most successful shows in the history of American television.  The program finds new solo recording artists with the winner determined by the viewers in America who vote through telephone, internet and SMS text messaging.  Contestants are judged by a panel of judges who have included record producers, celebrities and pop singers.  

The Voice is an American reality television singing competition broadcast on NBC. Based on the original The Voice of Holland, the concept of the series is to find new singing talent (solo or duets) contested by aspiring singers, age 15 or over, drawn from public auditions.
