#2016逛美国#– 本周景点：葛底斯堡，“自由的新生”。
南北战争是年轻的美国所经历的一场残暴和变革性的事件。南北战争结束时，一个崭新的美国诞生了，但这离不开一百多万美国人牺牲他们的生命去追求美国的愿景。
葛底斯堡终究是战争中一个重要转折事件的发生地，政府军在那里对反叛邦联军实施了致命的一击，终结了他们独立的希望。
1863年7月，邦联军直接将战争带到了北方领土，但是经过三天的血战，他们撤退了。
葛底斯堡战役还启发亚伯拉罕∙林肯总统发表著名的“葛底斯堡演说”，以纪念这一争取自由并最终获胜的不朽时刻，以及纪念交战双方的5万名战士。
今天，在葛底斯堡国家军事公园（Gettysburg National Military Park）你可以看到历史性的美国标志物，参与亲历历史项目（Living History Programs），和体验宾夕法尼亚平原宽广而开阔的自然美景。

The Civil War was a brutal and transformative event for the young United States. At its conclusion, a new United States was born, but not before over 1 million Americans sacrificed their lives in pursuit of their vision of America.
Gettysburg was ultimately the site of an important turning point in the war, in which government forces dealt a fatal blow to the rebel Confederates, ending their hopes for independence. In July 1863, Confederate forces brought the battle directly into Northern territory, but after 3 bloody days of battle, they retreated.
The Battle of Gettysburg was also the inspiration for President Abraham Lincoln's well-known "Gettysburg Address" which immortalized this American moment where freedom was fought for and prevailed, and commemorating the 50,000 soldiers who fought on both sides.
Today, at the Gettysburg National Military Park you can see historical American fixtures, Living History Programs, and experience the natural beauty of wide open Pennsylvania plains.
