#AmericanMusic – Folk Rock:  The 1960s saw a growing interest in American traditional and folk music, as well as the folk-rock hybrid of folk melodies played on electric guitars.  The Byrds had a 1965 Billboard number 1 hit with their version of folk veteran Pete Seeger's "Turn, Turn, Turn," which was also the title of the Byrds' second album.  The Byrds mix of jangly guitars and dreamy vocals were a key influence for both Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and REM.  The Byrds did not play at Woodstock, but their former guitarist David Crosby did -- do you know the name of his next band?
