18:30, Thursday,January 19 ShAC Mashup: Appalachian Barn Dance And Yunnan Folk Dance

来上海美国中心跳舞吧！来自云南石林的撒尼族乐队——蛮虎，将会传授两支传统民族舞蹈，随后会演奏他们的传统民族乐器为观众舞蹈环节伴奏。随后，来自阿巴拉契亚的美国访问舞者Phil Jamison将会携同他的传统乡村乐队Jenny and the Hog Drovers以及他们的朋友Mountain High（曾经的胡同黄鼠狼乐队），以小提琴、班卓琴、吉他以及低音大提琴的伴奏，教授传统的美式乡村广场舞、圆圈舞以及行列舞。最后，两支表演乐队将会共同表演一段舞蹈，来展现这两种传统舞蹈的交融。

Come dance!  From the Stone Forest in Yunnan, the ethnic Sani band Manhu(Ferocious Tigers) will teach two of their traditional dances, then play theirunique local instruments as the audience dances. From the AppalachianMountains, visiting American dance caller Phil Jamison will teach traditionalsquare and big circle to the musical accompaniment of fiddle, banjo, guitar anddouble bass from his band of traditional country musicians Jenny and the HogDrovers and their friends Mountain High (formerly the Hutong Yellow Weasels).To end things off, both groups will lead a mashup dance that fuses bothtraditions.
