Dearborn Michigan, located in the north central part of the USA, is a city of about 98,000 people and has the highest concentrations of Arab Americans and Muslim Americans in the United States.  

The city's population includes approximately 40,000 Arab Americans.  The first Arab immigrants came to work in the automotive industry.  Most were Christians from Lebanon and Armenia.  Later, Arab immigrants from Yemen, Iraq and Palestine, most of whom are Muslim, joined them.

Dearborn has the largest proportion of Arab Americans living in one city as well as the greatest Lebanese population in the United States.  In 1964, the Arab Muslim community built the Islamic Center of America and today it is the largest mosque in North America. 

Imam Sayid Hassan Al-Qazwini (born 1964 in Karbala, Iraq) is the former leader of the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan. The Arab American National Museum (AANM) opened in Dearborn in 2005, the first museum devoted to Arab-American history and culture.
