#AmericanDiversity – Diaspora Communities – Ethiopians in DC 

The United States has the largest number of global diaspora members, with more than 62 million first- or second-generation immigrants. Aside from Native Americans, all those living in the United States have immigrant roots.  

For example, there is a growing diaspora community of Ethiopians in the United States, with a large concentration in Washington D.C., estimated at over 35,000 residents of Ethiopians descent.  

Many Ethiopian immigrants drive taxicabs and park cars in their new homeland, and several have opened successful Ethiopian restaurants.  

These new immigrants have added to Washington D.C.’s vibrant culture by introducing theirs to the region.  Have you ever tried Ethiopian food?
