绵阳科博会·促进西南地区产业发展
2015年9月，西南美国商会应绵阳投资促进局邀请，参加了第三届中国(绵阳)科技城国际科技博览会。美商会代表团包括了，翊信企业管理咨询（上海）有限公司的Matt Winter先生；桑木深设计有限公司的Larry Samuelson先生,；美国联合航空公司的Kelsi·Hoser女士，Kelsi同时也是美商会理事会成员；以及美商会工作人员。美商会代表团应邀参观了绵阳工业园区、科博会现场以及参加了绵阳市投资促进会议。
绵阳 绵阳市是四川省第二大城市，亦是党中央、国务院批准建设的中国唯一科技城，中国重要的国防科研和电子工业生产基地，成渝绵经济圈中心城市。绵阳现有长虹、九洲等大中型骨干企业50余家，拥有注册上市公司13家，电子信息、汽车及零部件等优势产业基础坚实。2014年，绵阳市研究开放投资费用占全市GDP比重的6.58%。绵阳拥有坚实、全面的工业基础，其不断腾飞的经济实力和大力的高新科技投资使其成为中国重要的科技摇篮。
科博会展现了绵阳致力于发展国际产业合作的决心。今年，来自50余个国家、超过1000家外国公司参加了此次科博会，也创下了历史规模之最。在今年的活动中，绵阳首次选出了“荣誉参展国家”，着重展出了捷克共和国的参展产品。除此之外，绵阳政府还举办了关于“在多方面实现军民技术一体化合作”的论坛会，吸引多方专家意见和建议，包括将核技术的医疗化运用。因此，绵阳科博会不仅仅是一场吸引多方投资的盛会，更是同国际前沿科技接轨并谋求合作的重要平台。
西南美商会也在此次活动深入了解了绵阳的工业发展情况以及投资环境。绵阳作为成渝绵经济圈中心城市，对于美商会会员公司而言，不仅是寻求合作伙伴的重要平台，也是投资发展的适宜选择。美商会很荣幸参加了此次绵阳科博会，希望明年有更多会员公司加入到代表团中！
Mianyang High-Tech Expo Sheds Light on Industry in Southwest China
In September 2015, AmCham Southwest member companies and staff are invited to attend the city’s 3rd Annual Science and Technology City International High-Tech Expo. AmCham’s delegation included Mr. Matt Winter of ECFO; Mr. Larry Samuelson of Phillip-Samuelson Design International; Ms. Kelsi Hoser, AmCham board member and regional sales representative for United Airlines; and AmCham office staff. The representatives spent two days in Mianyang touring industrial parks, visiting the Expo, and attending investment promotion meetings. Mianyang is the second largest city in Sichuan Province and is the only city in China which the central government has designated as a Science and Technology City. Mianyang earned this distinction because of its well-established industry base. Mianyang is home to 13 top Chinese enterprises including Changhong Electronics. In 2014, research and development accounted for 6.58% of Mianyang’s GDP. With its strong basis in industry and research, Mianyang is well-positioned to further develop its high-tech manufacturing capabilities.
The Expo represents Mianyang’s dedication to expanding international industry cooperation. This year, over 1,000 foreign investors representing 50 countries attended the Expo, which is the largest international attendance so far. Mianyang selected a guest country of honor for the first time this year, featuring products from the Czech Republic in its exhibits. Moreover, during the Expo, the Mianyang government hosted a forum on military-civil integration which sought advice from international experts on a range of topics, including the application of nuclear technology in healthcare. Thus, the Mianyang Expo is a chance for Mianyang to not only attract investment, but also to forge connections with and gain insight from the international community. AmCham’s representatives found the Mianyang Expo worthwhile because it offered a solid introduction to the city’s industrial resources and business environment. Because Mianyang is an attractive place for AmCham member companies to seek business partners or investment opportunities. AmCham was pleased to be invited to this year’s Mianyang Expo, and we hope for our members’ continued participation in future delegation trips.
