PlaceMakers is one of New Zealand's largest suppliers to the building trade. Here at our Albany branch we are looking to continue our strong sales growth through recruitment of an energetic and customer focused person for full-time showroom role which will also offer an opportunity to be trained in our trade service team.
The position will include a mix of frontline showroom sales duties, merchandising and development as a backup to the trade service team. You will be serving builders and other trade professionals as well as Serious DIY customers out of our modern Albany facility.
We are seeking a clear communicator, ideally in both English and Mandarin, to service our growing customer base across the Albany region.
Ideally you have some DIY knowledge or had previous experience with similar building supply merchants. The most important things is that you have an awesome can-do attitude and are willing to learn and take on any role at the drop of a hat!

Our client is a 55 year old male with muscular dystrophy, based in Flat Bush. As there is a language barrier, we do require somebody who can speak either cantonese/mandarin fluently, and prepare asian food. This is a requirement of the role.
The hours required are
•Monday 11am - 4pm
•Wednesday 11am - 1pm
•Friday 11am - 2pm
Duties
•Assisting client with his daily needs and personal cares
•Home help (includes cooking of Asian food)
•Companionship and support
Skills, experience & requirements
•At least 6 months previous experience in a similar position - ideally as a caregiver, homecare support worker or a personal carer for a family member/friend
•Be fluent in Mandarin/Cantonese
•Ability to start immediately
•A full drivers license and reliable transport
