Insurance Sales Consultant - Mandarin speaking
Our Corporate and Direct Telesales team services leads from the IAG channel, and we're looking for a Sales champion with passion and drive for selling over the phone, to join our team as an Insurance Sales Consultant with both strong Mandarin and English language skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful close-knit team in turning leads into sales; and your chance to be part of the exciting growth phase for Sovereign and more directly the Distribution channel as we move into the migrant market.
As an Insurance Sales Consultant, you will be part of a highly successful phone-based sales pod receiving leads for the IAG / State & Direct channels and using your exceptional relationship, language and influencing skills to qualify these leads into successful sales. You will be a significant part of the Sovereign story of making life healthier, happier, and longer for all by offering our market-leading risk insurance products to our customers.
Success in this role will first and foremost come from your personality and motivation, and a passion for succeeding in everything you do. Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead, support and assist a group of short-term exchange Chinese students visit NZ schools and travel around Auckland.
- Group supervision of the Chinese students for up to 10 days, take turns with teachers from China for various responsibilities.
- Guide and help students to plan and carry out researches on inquiry learning topics.
- Promote NZ culture and encourage student participation in ALL activities.
- Answer all questions students and teachers may have about New Zealand.
- Work with other staff to iron out difficulties with itineraries, bus routes and activities.
- Help develop, carry out and evaluate the exchange program that reflects the goals of the visit.

The role:
This is a lead generation role where you will be making outbound calls to Singapore based businesses and speaking to potential clients on behalf of a well recognized global financial service provider. Potential clients will then be forwarded to an experienced sales team for a consultation appointment. This is a proven financial expense management solution used worldwide and our client has a strong global brand. Our current team enjoys the benefits of exceeding target expectations so while the work can be challenging the potential to achieve positive results is expected!
This is 11 month contract of 25 hours per week with a start date of 1st of February 2016 through to December 2016. There is a potential for further extension and/or on-going work. The hours of work will fall 27.5 hours between Monday to Friday 1pm – 10pm which includes a 30 minute unpaid break.
To be successful in this role you should have:
•Confidence and the ability to communicate with key senior management such as Financial Controller or CEO
•You'll need to be skilled in making a great first impression as you'll be the voice of a prestigious global brand dedicated to quality and service.
•Business Acumen/Financial Knowledge
•Understanding of company core financial concepts would be an advantage
•Ability to speak Mandarin while not essential would be an advantage as would your knowledge of the Singapore Market
•Ability to work 25 hours between the hours of 1pm to 10pm Monday to Friday.

Senior Importer/Exporter - Textile
We are looking for a permanent full time Senior Importer/Exporter - Textile to join our team. We are a newly established fast paced importing and exporting company based on the North Shore.
Reporting to the company director, you will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling and coordinating the operations of import/export of textile products from and to both Chinese and Middle East markets
You would be responsible of development of supply & customer base in both markets, You will be willing to travel frequently. This is an intensive communication role that would require high networking background and skills with designated markets. You will be seeking new challenges and opportunities to develop and drive new initiatives in a highly competitive market within a dynamic, customer-oriented company. You will be a deal maker focused on maximising all opportunities.
You will be required to:
•Travel to each of both markets at least once a year
•Identify local and overseas business opportunities
•Develop, implement business and marketing plans.
•Determine terms and negotiate conditions of trade
•Liaise with local and overseas suppliers and distributors about orders and products
•Monitor business performance and prepare estimates, financial statements and reports of operations
•Appoint agents and distributors
•Arrange the shipping of goods into and out of the country

You should have:
•A tertiary qualification
•Strong commercial initiative and aptitude
•Clear written and verbal communication
•Five years plus experience within textile business environment
•Work experience and strong communication network with both Middle East and Chinese textile markets
•High level of proficiency with either Arabic or Mandarin language if not both
•The ability to handle pressure
•Good computer skills
•Energy, motivation and integrity
•Excellent time management skills – you will need to follow a call cycle
•Confidence, motivation and is outgoing!
Your role will involve mainly developing new business. You will need to be confident and have the ability to relate and communicate with relevant stakeholders. Ideal candidate should be autonomous, disciplined, well organised and proactive with a can do attitude and hands on approach.
