谷歌在伦敦有三个办公楼，两个在Victoria，一个在Soho。总共接近2000员工。
Soho的那个是谷歌在欧洲的marketing中心，经常可以听到欧洲各国语言。但大多数在Victoria，主要在做安卓系统和安卓上的各种谷歌app，市面上应用的绝大部分安卓软件都是在伦敦开发的的。
谷歌的特殊内部结构
先介绍谷歌的特殊内部结构，从工程师的角度来说，除了一些副总或产品总管很高级的人物以外，平时是看不到什么上下关系。谷歌不封junior或senior这种职位，你入职之后基本上不会改变，也不会与你周围的人有任何区别。但不能说相同一职位有相同的报酬。他们有一个薪水级别制度，总共九极，针对各种工程师。毕业生刚进来会是一级或二级，在美国相当于年薪90k和110k美元左右；上面七八级适合二十年经验的人，可以达到400k以上；在伦敦，一级二级是55k和70k英镑。每年有定两次升级机会，有的人升级非常快，和年龄背景完全无关。
但不是所有人都属于这个制度。项目管理、宣传部门员工的收入不到工程师的一半。有些人是属于另一个被谷歌收购的公司的话会有他们公司自己的系统，也有一些计算机神话人物可以额外拿到数百万美元。
需要强调的是谷歌这公司是以工程师开发为主。很多其他IT公司会让那些写代码最厉害的人慢慢升级到管理一层让他们负责一个组。这样就让他们越来越不需要写代码。可是这样不是浪费吗？谷歌不愿意这样。其实最厉害的工程师往往是社交能力或管理能力最差的，所以交给他们这种责任是一种打扰。在谷歌可能发生的是：一个三级工资的人在管理一个小组，手下组里面有个七级工资的人给他干活，收入比他主管高几倍。那个人在谷歌十年从来没有当过什么领导性角色物，但是工资慢慢的长了很高。只有谷歌才这样随意，把责任交给管理者，把钱留给能做事情的。
不管怎么样谷歌会每年发一定的股份给所有员工。好像之前给所有刚毕业的新工程师是50 – 100的股份，价值现在的几万镑，可是好像现在变少了。
谷歌的面试
过程一开始会有至少两个电话面试，其中一个必须在google drive里面边写代码边解释思路。这一阶段的内容不会很抽象，反而可能是谷歌真需要人会做的某种棱块。他们会挖掘出来，分析你对技术的敏感程度如何，看你有没有独立的分析直觉。他们找到一个你的特长之后会强化你的特长。把你熟悉的东西挖掘得越来越深，尽量把你带到不熟悉的地步然后乘机教你新的方法，看你能不能很有效的把新知识兼容进去。目的是发现这个人的极限以及超越这个极限的可能性。问题本身是没有一个最佳完整的答案的，总可以把省下时间用来继续优化你的答案。他们想看到你自己把问题拆开解释再看你寻找自己的解决方式的过程，最好把全部的思维说出去让他们帮你，如果有不懂的或不会的完全可以问问他们，这才是正常的状况。
电话面试的五万人只有其中5%会被邀请去谷歌总楼当面面试。去当面面试的又有20%的人终于会被录取。从一两百万到五万到一万，说实话做到这里已经非常不错了。
面试当天，上午和下午加起来会有四到六个不同方向的一对一的面试。人家不会像其他公司一样要求你自我介绍或问你为什么选择谷歌，也不会乱聊爱好什么的，问题都是很技术的。但是放心，他们不会问那些非常抽象让人崩溃的问题，例如“为什么井盖是圆的？”。虽然之前电话面试是很专业的人来做，可是这一轮全都是随便选的普通工程师，可能年龄比你小，可能很傲慢或者不怎么会说话。因此这一轮很看运气的，每个人要给你打分，总共分数达到五分之四左右才行。所以如果有人给零分就没办法了。不过他们最后决定也取决于蛮多其他的，如果被内部人推荐了会好些。最后失败的话他们会很希望你再过六个月重新试一下，因为连他们都承认这个有运气因素。
谷歌的工作环境
很多人也知道谷歌很在乎他们的工程师的生活质量，每个办公楼有一两个超级好吃的免费餐厅。每餐厅每天有几十种不同的菜，有各国专业厨师做的食物。这些餐厅不限时间，早上到晚上都可以去吃或者拿东西回家吃。每一层也提供有无数小吃和饮料种类。每周五下午可以去一个叫“TGIF”地方吃披萨喝酒，不过伦敦“TGIF”的不是那么有趣，几乎没什么人说话。
办公楼也有健身房和其他个各种设施，连睡觉的地方都有。谷歌有着非常优越的工作环境，但在谷歌伦敦见到的华人很少（不到十个）……

Ensure the audit pack has been approved by a manager/partner before carrying out an audit
