The Job

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and operationally savvy events professional to join our fast expanding licensing team. This role will report directly to the Senior Operations Manager International, and will work within the Licensing Operations team to help manage the day to day relationships with licensed partners (currently 5 licensed markets) and assist all operational activity across these markets. 

This role will also be a key member within the broader Global Licensing team and will be required to work closely with the other functions to drive excellence.

To be considered for this opportunity you should have broad experience in end to end event delivery and operations, preferably with experience in mass participation sporting or green field event operations. You should be a natural communicator and networker with ability to build relationships, influence and work with abroad range of stakeholders.

The role is based at our TMHQ office in Farrington, London

The Work

The Licensing Operations team works closely with each licensed partner to ensure they are appropriately trained in Tough Mudder event operations whilst supporting the management and delivery of each event. The ultimate objective is to ensure every Tough Mudder event is delivered in line with global key performance indicators and product standards. The Licensing Operations Associate will assist with the on-boarding, training and management of each Tough Mudder licensed partner across new and existing markets. 

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role can be broken into three areas:

Licensing Operations

• Assist with the management and coordination of day-to-day operational relationships with licensed partners across the globe

• Undertake internal training to understand the Tough Mudder product and event delivery methodology, whilst becoming a subject matter expert across a range of key operational areas

• Update, maintain and improve Tough Mudder training materials and operational guidelines to assist in the training process for new partners

• Work with Operations Manager to streamline and develop Licensed Operations processes and systems

Licensed Partner Onboarding and Training

• Take accountability for partner training, support and delivery across a set of key operational areas

• Coordinate with internal Tough Mudder Operational departments to deliver specialist subject matter training to licensed partners

• Manage and support the logistics and schedules for partner support and training programs across all regions

Licensed Partner Event Planning and Support

• Work alongside the Operations Manager to oversee and support event planning and delivery for each Tough Mudder licensed event

• Provide firm guidance and feedback to licensed partners to ensure each event is delivered in line with Tough Mudder event standards

• Track event planning progress to ensure planning timelines and deliverables are met

• Travel as required to support each Licensed partners training program and event delivery

The Traits

• Self-motivated, natural communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, communication, creativity, strategic thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and enthusiasm

• Strong organiser who can manage multiple projects (and associated stakeholders) simultaneously

• Strong understanding of end to end event delivery – specifically in Mass Participation Sporting events

• Excellent verbal / written communication - Fluent in English (Other language skills particularly Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese a plus)

• International events experience with a demonstrable ability to understand and adapt to regional and cultural requirements

• Organised, attentive to detail, and able to prioritize amongst an array of projects

• Intuitive feel for the Tough Mudder product, brand and mission

• Entrepreneur spirit who can initiative projects and implement changes

• Ability to strongly advocate for the brand and product while also finding routes to consensus to address needs of a variety of stakeholders

• Someone who takes their work but not themselves too seriously

The Experience

• 3-5 years relevant experience in event operations – ideally in the mass participation sporting event industry

• Undergraduate degree required
