Job Description

Your stellar experience in the ultra-prestige retail sector and proven success in freestanding store expansion globally will serve you well in this role.


Position Summary

-   Lead key initiatives from the Jo Malone London (JML) Global Brand strategy into the international markets

-   Lead growth and development of Jo Malone London International business

-   Ensure consistent brand execution in all markets, taking into account local specifics, and act as a Brand guardian

-   Understand consumer and market needs; ensure JML Global Marketing is addressing them – across products, sets, events, programs, samples, etc.

-   Develop brand platform internationally by working closely with regions and affiliates

-   Collaborate with Global / Regional counterparts (5 indirect regional reports), including Global Market Development, Marketing, Global Consumer Engagement, Events, Global Online, Global Communication, Global Brand Supply Chain and Global Finance


Job Requirements And Qualifications

-   Bachelors Degree 

-   Experience commensurate with a Director level role 

-   Additional languages an advantage (particularly basic level Mandarin, Japanese) 

-   Global Travel: 25% 

-   Experience in a premium retail brand where brand equity is at its core

-   Sensibility towards International market specificities essential 

-   International experience (LATAM / APAC advantageous)

-   A seasoned project manager 

-   Strategic collaborator with an ability to interface with many departments following the human values of Jo Malone London

-   Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and adaptability and agility to work with senior ELC and JML management 

-   Able to demonstrate the 3 tenets of the JML people strategy: Expertise, Creative Thinking and Kindness


Key Roles And Responsibilities

International

-   Act as an enabler between the Global Brand, Regions and Markets to ensure immaculate execution of the brand experience in the international markets

-   Identify key opportunities for improvements, set up action plans and follow up implementation from Global, Regions and Markets

-   Represent "the voice of the Regions" in the London Office, working closely with VP GM International, including extensive global travel

-   Articulate specific business needs and champion local relevance

-   Follow up all action points after senior management and VP International market visits

-   Help set priorities

-   Key communication point person for all International Regions and Markets

-   Interface with all Global departments, follow up of all requests especially when coordination between various stakeholders in headquarters is needed

-   Lead all international retailer meetings, prepares agenda and presentations, and will host the meetings or attend in London if needed

-   Lead post Global Roundtable meetings with International team

-   Coordinate new international managers' orientations and all affiliate visitors

-   Assist in development of budget guidelines


Marketing

-  Primary contacts for Regional Marketing Head for cross-programmes topics

-  Lead growth and development of International business

-  Key Initiatives include: Help Regions and Markets increasing brand awareness and drive traffic to stores and Online to accelerate, respecting the brand positioning and business model

-  Work with Regional to better understand operating expenses across various markets and help optimise budget to ensure highest return on investment

-  Develops and implements go to market tactics with marketing Regionals whilst ensures consistency with brand's strategic direction including retail events and collateral support

-  Work with markets to understand consumer and market needs, including products, sets, events, programmes, samples, merchandisers, etc. 

-  Work with teams in London to help select and deliver against these needs

-  Help drive strong repromote programmes that could be specific per region to support basic business, making sure all the support elements are delivered on time by London

-  Share 'best practices' and 'lessons learned' with all Regions to optimise competitive stance and brand performance

-  Collaborates closely with Global Marketing and Consumer Engagement to provide International market feedback on plans and ensure calendars and programmes are consistent globally but also with market needs


Business Development

-  Implement strategy to help drive business in profitable channels internationally, including Online and Travel Retail

-  Help develop and implement FSS strategy that is consistent with the overall Jo Malone London strategy, that also delivers against the needs of the local consumer and in line with local market dynamics

-  Help to implement strategy to break through in Continental Europe and sustain growth in Emerging Markets

-  Support brand Amazing Retail and omnichannel initiatives

-  Support high potential APAC markets

-  Support the expansion in acceleration markets
