2017年02月24日 澳贸委Austrade

On 13th February 2017, the first cohort of startups arrived at the Australian Landing Pad in Shanghai. 3 startups have now commenced their 90-day residency at XNODE, with the remaining two joining in the coming weeks. Startups selected for the first cohort are:

Trendwise:a visitor behaviour analytics platform utilising existing wireless infrastructure and low-cost smart sensors to translate real world data into readable optimisation insights for business and government.

Chozun: a platform provides business travellers personalised, curated lifestyle services & local experiences powered by AI and data science.

Euclideon: a leading provider of 3D visualisation and hologram technology that creates immersive experiences with application to both consumer entertainment and geographic information systems.

Language Your Way (to start in late Feb): an EdTech platform gamifies English learning through content aligned to Chinese curriculum while offering online tutoring services and customisable study tours with existing alliances in West China.

CrowdfundUP (to start in early Apr): a Fintech platform redefining property investment using crowdfunding and inclusive finance expertise.

The Landing Pad provides a dedicated office at the XNODE Jing’An Space, in the heart of this modern and international city, and home to a vibrant entrepreneurial community. Over the 90 day residency, participants have access to industry-specific workshops, expert seminars, regional outreach activities, pitch events, and business advisory support from both XNODE and Austrade, to support them to “get setup, get connected, and get backed” in China. Support is tailored to each teams’ needs.

The first three participants undertook an intensive and engaging first week including sessions delivered by professional service providers on industry and consumer insights, taxation, IP protection and the regulatory environment, as well as media and pitch training.  After a series of activities to get to know participants’ existing networks, business goals and priorities in China, each team is now working with Austrade and XNODE to develop a tailored market entry or expansion strategy and set goals for the remainder of their time at the Landing Pad.

During this first week, participants were formally welcomed by Mr. Graeme Meehan, Australia’s Consul-General to Shanghai.

“The Shanghai Consulate is pleased to welcome this first cohort to the Shanghai Landing Pad at XNODE. Covering data analytics, edtech, fintech, lifestyle, and 3D technologies, these teams represent just part of the exciting and innovative talent coming out of Australia today”, said Mr Meehan.

“I commend their decision to explore the China market. Shanghai is a key part of China’s dynamic innovation environment, and provides the perfect starting point for these Australian startups to grow their business in China” Mr. Meehan added.

The Shanghai Landing Pad is one of five bases established under Australia’s National Innovation and Science Agenda. Open in San Francisco, Tel Aviv, Singapore, Berlin and Shanghai. This opportunity is open to Australian founded, market ready startups who have the ambition to innovate, accelerate and go global.
