身为黑人意味着什么？这是个种族概念还是族裔概念，这两者有什么区别？在美国，相关名词的定义往往能引起很多争论。多民族和多族裔是美国社会最显著的特点之一，也由此带来很多需要解决的问题和值得探讨的议题。在本年度黑人历史月接近尾声之际，上海美国中心邀请你来参加这场关于美国种族和族裔话题的讲座。
What does it mean to be Black? Is it about race or ethnicity and is therea difference between these two? The very definitions of these terms often sparkdebates amongst many social circles within the country. The vast range ofraces and ethnicities in the U.S. is one of the strongest hallmarks of ournation, but it also raises difficult issues to be dealt with and questions tobe discussed. As we wrap up the final weeks remaining of Black HistoryMonth, The Shanghai American Center is proud to host an evening talk anddiscussion on how race and ethnicity manifests itself in the U.S. Jointhe discussion!

美国的志愿服务精神源远流长。从志愿消防员到和平队队员，美国人具有为有意义的事业奉献时间和才干这项传统。如今，四分之一的美国人，也就是6430多万人有志愿服务的经历。本次活动中，上海美国中心请来了四位领馆的外交官来和大家分享他们此前的志愿服务经历。他们会谈到参加志愿服务的原因以及这段经历对他们人生的影响。本次活动是美国志愿服务系列活动的第二场。
America and its development have been closely linked to the work of volunteerssince its founding. From volunteer firefighters to Peace Corps volunteers,Americans have a strong tradition of donating their time to worthycauses. Today nearly one in four Americans, an estimated 64.3million people, have served as volunteers. This evening we will have apanel of four officers who previously served as volunteers. They willtalk about why they decided to volunteer and the impact doing so has had ontheir lives. Join us for the second part of our series on Americanvolunteerism.

No longer confined to comic books and graphic novels, American superheroes arestarring in some of the most popular movies and television series on screensaround the world. Developed in the early 20th century from the creativeminds of American writers, these superheroes directly reflect what washappening in the U.S. at that time and throughout the 20th century. TheShanghai American Center is proud to host an evening talk about superheroes andtheir close connection to modern U.S. history and culture trends.
