第二个面向英语教师的慕课—《英语课堂中的批判性思维与文化探索》将于2018年2月19日与大家见面。批判性思维的培养在英语课堂学习中受到越来越多的重视。希望为期5周的MOOC学习能为大家的英语教学带来新的思路。

The American English E-Teacher program offers Massive Open Online Courses(MOOCs) in addition to its Global Online Courses (GOCs). These are free 5-weekonline courses designed for non-native English language teachers and open to anunlimited number of participants. The program offers both facilitated andself-directed MOOCs.

Integrating Critical Thinking into theExploration of Culture in an EFL Setting

About this course:

The Integrating Critical Thinking into the Exploration of Culture in an EFLSetting MOOC presents participants with a working definition of culture andtools for analyzing, understanding, and negotiating differences betweencultures. Participants explore what critical thinking is and why it isnecessary for the development of intercultural competence. With a view towardpreparing teachers to implement culture and critical thinking lessons intotheir current teaching contexts, participants work through numerous examples ofrelated activities and lesson plan elements, as well as ways of evaluatingstudents’ progress in these areas.

Participants who earn 70% or higher will receive a digital badge as a markof completion.

The AmericanEnglish (AE) E-Teacher Program is proud to partner with World Learning to offer Integrating CriticalThinking into the Exploration of Culture in an EFL Setting, a professionaldevelopment course for English language teachers. This course isdeveloped and taught by World Learning, a global nonprofit organization thatfocuses on education, development, and exchange programs. World Learning andits graduate school, SIT GraduateInstitute, specialize in American TESOL education and teacher training. The AEE-Teacher Program provides online professional development resources forEnglish language teachers and learners worldwide and is sponsored and funded bythe U.S. Department of State, Bureau ofEducational and Cultural Affairs, and administered by FHI 360.

Pre-course orientation module:

An orientation module will open 2 weeks before the start of the course, on February 5, 2018. This short guide willhelp you get the most out of the online learning environment by providing anintroduction to the AE E-Teacher program, MOOCs, using the Canvas Networklearning management system, online learning success strategies, and how to findsupport during the course. We strongly encourage participants to complete thismodule before beginning the course.
