The School of Histories, Languages, and Cultures is seeking to appoint a fixed-termed teaching fellow in Chinese Studies (50% FTE) from September 2016 to January 2017. The School has a strong national reputation for teaching excellence, and Chinese Studies offered by the School received a top-three ranking in the latest Complete University Guide’s subject table of East and South Asian Studies.

The successful candidate will teach a number of Chinese cultural modules at undergraduate level offered within the School. The modules are primarily focused on contemporary China. We would welcome willingness and ability to contribute to teaching on pre-modern China as well. The post-holder will be expected to set and to mark assessments, to moderate marks in Chinese assessments, to provide feedback to students’ work, to offer office hours to students, to attend team meetings in Chinese, and to undergo a School induction session.

The post-holder may be asked to take on other responsibilities in academic support as appropriate.

This is a part time post, accounting 50%FTE.
