文化与传媒类

文化与传媒类的考题，其实算是雅思几大类别中较为难考的一种。因为该题型相对不那么好写，所以如果想要在词句造诣方面有所提高，还是需要付出一定的时间和精力的哦！不要偷懒，就从今天开始，努力积累吧！

☆Media-driven world:

Driven: 收到驱策的；传媒驱策的世界

e.g.: There is no doubt but that we live in a rapidly changing, media-driven world.

☆Support the local movie industry:

支持当地的电影产业；当然也可以有其他的产业，比如：heavy industry 重工业; automobile industry 汽车产业; aviation industry 航空业等等~

e.g.: For years, public health groups have encouraged the movie industry to voluntarily reduce depictions of smoking.

☆Key plots:

Plot: (戏剧、小说等的) 情节；key plots可以理解为 (电影、小说等的) 主线情节。

e.g.: The key plots of the story gradually developed in my mind.

☆Moviegoer:

n．常看电影的人

e.g.: But then, the ambition of this film is to take the moviegoer a little deeper.

☆Plots and themes:

前面解释过plots啦！theme是主题的意思；该短语的意思为“情节与主题”；

e.g.: Students analyse the plots, themes, and characters of daytime soaps and discuss their impact on modern life.

☆Consistently:

Adv.: 一贯地，一致地，始终

e.g.: Family members, colleagues and employers of all the detained have consistently denied the allegations (指控).

☆Let viewers down:

Let sb. down: 让某人失望，这也是一个很常用的短语~非常好用~

e.g.: He let his wife down when he failed to obtain promotion.

☆Much-loved fairy tale:

Much-loved: 可理解为“集万千宠爱于一身的”；

Fairy tale: 童话故事

e.g.: in 2008 the country switched from being a kingdom to a democracy, a decision taken by the much-loved King himself.

☆Storylines:

n. 故事情节

e.g.: “I don’t think there were this many storylines in Crash,” he writes.

☆Allocate sufficient funds:

这个短语其实并不难，也没有难词，把这个短语摘录在这里是为了告诉大家，如果想要表达“投资、花费”这个意思，那么可以用这个词组替换。

☆Forthcoming:

Adj. 即将来临的，即将到来的

e.g.: Details of the discovery will be published in a forthcoming issue of the Astrophysical (天文物理期刊) Journal.

☆Film buffs:

Buff: n. 爱好者；buff还有浅黄色的意思~

Film buff可以翻译为“电影迷”

e.g.: And an extremely wealthy film buff might buy such a projector from Vision Experience, which sells them packaged with enormous, inflatable screens.

☆Foreign blockbusters:

Blockbuster: n. 大片；也可以翻译成“轰动，一鸣惊人者”

Foreign blockbuster：国外的电影大片

e.g.: That proves a Hollywood blockbuster can make as much in China as in other traditionally profitable markets such as Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

☆Civilized society:

文明社会

e.g.: Supreme Court Justice Holmes once said that taxes are the price we pay for civilized society.

☆Injustice:

n. 不公正，不讲道义

e.g.: Calling them a bunch of capricious (反复无常的，任性的) kids with half-formed ideas (半成型的想法) does them an injustice.

☆Oppression:

n. 压迫，镇压

e.g.: As often happens among the oppressed, the charitable organizations have bought in on their own oppression.

☆Contestant:

n. 竞争者，争辩着

e.g.: Later he applied to be a contestant on the television show.
