#American Artist - John Singer Sargent 

John Singer Sargent was born in Italy to American parents. He traveled extensively and gained notoriety as the portrait painter of some of America's most distinguished personalities including President Theodore Roosevelt. His highly skilled brushwork conveyed the luxury of his Edwardian society clients. Sargent's watercolors are also an important contribution to art history. Later in his career he used vivid watercolors and his drawing prowess to document some of America’s most stunning landscapes.
