相信很多同学对英国大学RAE(the Research Assessment Exercise)排名并不陌生，是英国高等教育基金委员会对英国高等教育机构的研究质量进行的系统全面的测评，最新公布的REF排名数据显示，英国高校学术研究质量排行榜又有新变化，牛津大学胜利扳回一局终于登上了第一的位子。以前排名第二的剑桥大学被UCL横插一脚，被挤到了第三。进步迅速的要算KCL，从以前11位快速上升到了第7位。
评分根据
专家小组根据各校提交的研究课题和同行评议结果给学校打分，最高分*(世界领先)，最低分1*(国内认可)。报告显示，与2008年的评估结果相比，英国高校的学术研究质量总体有所提高，但北方的大学却在退步。
