Wine Australia China has a temporary vacancy of Project Officer in Shanghai, responsible for organising and delivering marketing activities for Australian wine in China, from June 2016 to May 2017.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, passionate, flexible and prepared to work in a performance-driven culture. They must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to demonstrate a track record of achieving measurable results in marketing and event management.

Based in Shanghai, the Project Officer will organise and deliver Wine Australia’s marketing and event activities in the Chinese market.
The Project Officer will work closely with the Marketing Officer and will require strong organisation and project management skills to deliver the China programs for Wine Australia.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Successfully implement marketing activities including coordination of key trade events and promotions.
Successfully promote the awareness and understanding of Australian wine in China.
Work closely with the team members to ensure effective communication, promotion and education of Wine Australia in all trade-, consumer- and media-related initiatives.
Identify and develop proposals for new opportunities that effectively market and promote Australian wines in the China market in line with agreed strategies.
Contribute to the development of the annual promotional program and the long-term strategic plan for China.
Identify and build relationships, including with key media and trade.
Undertake all other duties to assist in the positive awareness and image development of Australian wine.
Manage project budgets.
Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports/submissions and project materials as required.
Performance evaluation of this position is measured by Wine Australia’s key performance indicators and criteria.
SELECTION CRITERIA – ESSENTIAL
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with fluency in both English and Mandarin.
At least five years recent commercially focused work with an international company or foreign government organization context in China.
At least five years’ direct experience within the wine sector in project management and event planning and execution.
The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Highly motivated and driven to exceed expectations.
Attention to detail and a genuine desire to work to high standards.
Proficient in computer skills like using Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook etc.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
A dedicated team player with the ability to contribute and support team projects and initiatives.
