对于PTE的阅读部分，与雅思是有根本性不同的。无论是在考试时长和题型种类上，PTE相比起雅思更为注重Quick Response而非雅思容易上手的模版型套路去寻找答案。然而在文章的篇幅长度和题目的快速熟悉程度来讲，PTE则更容易入手，例如，PTE 阅读中的fill in the blanks和人人熟知的完形填空题目类型十分相似。PTE的阅读通常为150-300字的短篇文章，一篇文章一道题目，这就为阅读速度比较慢的同学创造了新的契机。
PTE阅读中包含的题目种类有
⊙ MultipleChoice, choose multiple answers (多选题)
⊙ Multiple Choice, choose single answer （单选题）
⊙ Fill in the blanks-drop down list (从下拉列表中四个词中选择一个恰当的词填空)
⊙ Reorder Paragraph (将打乱顺序的句子正确排序）
⊙ Fill in the blanks-choose one from the below box (从文章底部方框中选择一个恰当单词或词组拖拽至空格中)
对于PTE考察的题型除了单选多选这种大家较为熟悉的出题方式之外，fill in the blanks和reorder graph这几类PTE独有的题型更为考察我们的正确逻辑架构。在PTE阅读中较为常见的逻辑关系即：对比，递进，疑问，因果，并列，解释关系等。
因果关系：标志词汇有for, because, since, therefore等;
转折关系：标志词汇有but, yet, although, however, on the contrary, on the other hand, instead等;
并列递进关系：标志词汇有and, indeed, also, besides, similarly, like, accordingly, in the same way, meanwhile, furthermore, moreover等;
解释关系：标志词汇有that is, that is to say, for example, such as, namely, in other words等;
除了掌握上述这些逻辑连接词，文章大意以及上下文语意关联也是我们需要非常重视的。拿Fill in theblanks一道题目举例来说：
The practice of giving graduation gifts seems to be alive and well, despite _______ economic times. A recent study in the US has shown that while families may not have as much to spend, they are being more_____ in the gifts they bestow. Lavish celebrations and large lump_______ seem to have gone by the wayside in favor of smaller, more thoughtful gifts.
Generous hard creative money sums favorable
通过前文的alive and well看出这里表达了积极的信息，然而seemsto be又传达出一种潜在的转折概念，因此在看到despite之后要果断选择与前文相反的意思，这里通过语法分析要填形容词，因此选hard
同样，while表达了该句话前后存在转折的关系，事实上families may not have as much to spend，转折就是他们无法更慷慨大方而是转而be more creative，因此选creative
Lump sum为固定搭配，意思是一大笔数额
