4月25日是新西兰的澳新军团日（Anzac Day），人们会在这天缅怀为国捐躯的烈士，并向从战场归来的勇士及为国家默默奉献的妇女们献上最崇高的敬意。
奥克兰在澳新军团纪念日的活动由两部分组成: The Dawn Service(黎明纪念典礼)和The Anzac Parade(纪念游行)。
黎明前, 在奥克兰战争纪念馆外，就开始聚集所有退役军人及家属和自愿前往的民众们，进行游行、炷光悼念默哀纪念等一系列活动。
