美国国土安全部（DHS）是美国联邦政府内最年轻的内阁机构。它成立于2003年9月，是2001年9月11日发生的恐怖主义袭击的直接结果。尽管事实上是最年轻的部门，它却包含可追溯到1789年美国传统机构的使命。来加入北京美国中心，美国驻华大使馆DHS随员将分享并讨论该部的任务，特别着重于执法和安全，以及个人见解。讲座之后将进行问答和坦诚的讨论。

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is the youngest cabinet level organization within the U.S. Federal Government.  It was formed in 2003, as a direct result of the terrorist attack that occurred on September 11, 2001.  Though the youngest department in practice, it encompasses missions from legacy U.S. agencies dating as far back as 1789.  Come join us at the Beijing American Center where the DHS Attaché for U.S. Embassy Beijing  will share and discuss the Department’s mission with its particular emphasis on law enforcement and security, as well as his personal insight.  The presentation will be followed by a Q&A and candid discussion.
