#Traveling Around the U.S. –  Site of the Week: Oregon – Crater Lake

7715 years ago, Mount Mazama erupted, catapulting so much ash into the sky that the summit collapsed. Thus, Crater Lake was born. This blue lake is so blue that Native American legend says that local bluebirds were gray before dipping into its waters. It’s also the deepest lake in the United States. 

Here, you can see the national eagle, the bald eagle, fish salmon, go hiking, and even go swimming. Be careful though, because it’s also the deepest lake in the United States!
