Role Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven, tenacious, self-starting, intelligent, and ambitious individual who enjoys the fast-paced nature of the Energy industry and is looking to establish a rewarding career. This position is a great opportunity for an early career professional to join a leading company in the syndicated Energy space.
The successful candidate would be contributing to the high quality intelligence that GlobalData provides, conducting a range of research, assessment and forecasting activities for the Upstream Oil and Gas sector with a focus on the Asia Pacific Market.
The analyst role entails writing in-depth, independent technical and commercial perspectives through market research reports focused on relevant data and trends in the Upstream Oil and Gas Sector for clients across the financial and energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Model global upstream assets, providing NPV analysis for producing and soon-to-produce assets through forecasting project costs and production
Research and evaluate key planned upstream projects including economic analysis and identification of key challenges or upside
Support development of our oil and gas economic analysis syndicated research platform
Author upstream oil and gas market analysis research and commentary
Communicate research and analysis methodologies clearly clients
Contribute related content to consulting engagements
Keep abreast of trends in the oil and gas industry through primary research
Essential Criteria
In-depth knowledge of the Upstream Oil and Gas sector
Fluent in either Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Malay, or Indonesian
1-5 years work experience in industry or research / consulting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think independently
Excellent writing and oral communication skills
Desired Attributes
Knowledge of drivers of upstream project economics and challenges
A strong academic background with a degree in petroleum engineering, geology, finance, or economics required, and an advanced degree in petroleum engineering, economics, finance, geology or MBA strongly preferred
