The International Booking Team is growing and we are now looking for more talented people who are passionate about helping students find suitable accommodation abroad to join our growing team (perhaps you have been there yourself), love travel and will be able to provide guidance and reassurance to our Students.

 

Our new purpose built London Headquarters, are located within easy reach of major public transport links, overlooking The National Gallery and Trafalgar Square. Student.com is a fun and vibrant international company with offices in New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong and London. We are currently looking for Mandarin International Booking Consultants with an in depth experience of working within the Mandarin markets and preferably exposure to working within telesales in B2C roles.

 

This is NOT a cold calling role. All of our customer inquiries and contacts are driven from customers leaving their details on our website, www.student.com . No hard selling is involved, we build trust with our customers and provide high value in offering our customers the right accommodation options from around the world. Hard sales tactic people need not apply.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for qualifying customers by responding to web inquiries, answering inbound calls and making outbound calls to warm leads and facilitating sales through effective email communication in English and in Mandarin. This is a fast-growing team, which can offer an excellent and accelerated career path for customer focused, driven and ambitious individuals.

 

This is a Fixed Term Contract, to cover our peak season of students wanting to book accommodation around the world. There are excellent prospects to convert this opportunity into a full time contract as our team is expanding in line with the growth the company is experiencing, the initial focus is to grow our team in time for our summer peak season.

• Contacting every lead to maximise sales opportunities andprogressing each lead to ensure upsell and cross sell opportunities throughphone and email both English and Mandarin

• Building strong customer rapport through a high quality ofwritten/oral communications and by demonstrating excellent product knowledge

• Manage knowledge about the booking process and all serviceoptions available for students

• Completing all required administration and recording of salesthrough CRM system and other business systems

• Building strong relationships with team members and providingflexible and prompt support at all times

As an International Mandarin Speaking Booking Consultant you will be joining a dynamic multilingual business in the high-growth industry of international purpose built student accommodation. You will benefit from exposure to sophisticated multi-channel digital marketing strategies, responsive rich-media web development and multilingual accommodation planning and counselling across dozens of markets.

 

The post is a full-time temporary position with the possibility to convert to a permanent position at the end of contract. The position offers a basic salary of GBP £22,000 p/a. In addition we offer excellent benefits in working with us including full training and development.

 

The job involves shift based working between the hours of 9am and 11pm Monday to Sunday, with days off in lieu for any weekend work and a meal and travel allowance for late shift.

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, and write in both English and Mandarin

• In-depth experience of selling to customers in the Mandarin market

• Experience in telesales role preferred.

• Consultative selling techniques

• Bachelor degree (preferred) or relevant work experience

Candidate profile  

• Ability to build rapport, handle objections and close sales in English and in Mandarin

• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills

• Ability to use multiple customer contact and online systems

• Excellent team player who contributes ideas for the success of the team

• Self-motivated, results oriented sales person with track record of delivering to targets

• Quick to learn and apply knowledge

• Resilient and consistent, with ability to bounce back from setbacks and remain focused on goals

• Flexible with regards to shift patterns and working hours

• Currently based in London and able to commute to Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross
