   PR Manager, Tourism Australia (Shanghai)

The PR Manager is responsible for developing and implementing public relations programs that facilitate effective message dissemination to media and other external stakeholders and that underpin Tourism Australia’s brand positioning and marketing activities in China.
 
The position will ensure all public relations opportunities are aligned with China’s consumer marketing strategy and that TA’s public relations resources, including agency partners, are managed efficiently and effectively.

With drive, motivation and energy, you will be responsible for delivering on the following:
 
·  Develop and implement local measurable Public Relations strategies incorporating traditional and non-traditional channels and word-of-mouth advocacy, aimed at proactively engaging with Tourism Australia’s media targets and key external stakeholders

·  Develop quality content to deepen Chinese consumer’s knowledge about holidaying in Australia, which could include, but is not limited to image selection and the scripting of press releases, feature stories, newsletters and speeches and presentations etc.

·  Develop and implement activities that can drive user generated content about Australia holiday experience on the platform of owned, earned or bought media

·  Develop and implement advocacy programs that provide opportunities for Tourism Australia to work with key influencers who will tell Australia’s stories to their own networks

·  Manage Tourism Australia’s media profile in-market including managing media relationships, managing the media database, responding to media inquiries in a timely manner, generating and distributing media materials, responding to media issues, monitoring and clipping media, managing International Media Hosting program including media invitation, visit coordination, and media coverage monitoring and reporting

·  Work with and build mutually beneficial relationships with State Tourism Organisation (STO) teams and representatives

·  Maintain and ensure media website on australia.cn is an effective media newsroom and content source preferred and fully used by media

·  PR budget maintenance, provide input and insight in business report in relation to PR


To deliver on the above, your resume will demonstrate the following:
 
·  Demonstrated experience in Public Relations (minimum six years)

·  Exceptional written and verbal communications skills in Chinese and highly developed English language skills

·  Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or other related fields

·  Excellent media networks in China (traditional and non-traditional) and relationship building expertise

·  Demonstrated experience in preparing and delivering information effectively in a variety of media format for a diversity of audiences
 
The icing on the cake (desired) but not essential:
 
·  Experience working in the tourism industry or Australian holiday destinations

·  Social Media experience
