This new full-time, permanent role provides an excellent opportunity to gain direct insights into the international partnerships of Britain’s leading conservatoire, as well as engaging with the life of students at the Royal College of Music through support for the Keyboard and Composition faculties.

Supporting the RCM’s Chinese Partnerships, the postholder will work closely with the Associate Director for Partnerships in China to support the College’s unique partnerships in China: the Shanghai Conservatory/RCM Joint Institute located in Shanghai, which from September 2017 will offer a Youth Talent pre-College Programme, and regular artistic and academic exchanges between the two institutions, and new after school training centres which will open across China. The role will require initiative and the confidence to deal directly with our Chinese partners and with a wide range of internal departments.

The postholder will work closely with the Heads of Keyboard and of Composition to support the work of the Keyboard and Composition faculties. As a member of the Faculties Office, they will organise the regular faculty classes in both faculties; masterclasses with visiting artists; festivals, including the annual Keyboard Festival; and competitions.

You will need excellent inter-personal, IT, communication, and organisational skills; the ability to manage a varied workload and to work as a member of a team, as well as autonomously. Knowledge of classical music and higher education is highly desirable.
