Ensure the correct amount of Import VAT and Duty is paid for each import consignment, to ensure the company remains legally compliant with customs procedures.

·5 A-C GCSE’s or equivalent

·Considerable freight forwarding experience or similar, ideally in deep sea imports

·Sound understanding of the importance of HMRC compliance

·Understanding of the classification of imported goods, to ensure the correct amount of import duty is paid

·Experience in all International trade finance via letters of credit

·Understanding of air freight would be desirable

·Knowledge of Inco terms

·Understanding of the coordination of bills of lading

·Ability to work efficiently and accurately at all times, working on own initiative

·Analytical and good attention to detail

·Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

·IT literate- Competence in the use of spread sheets, databases and reporting to a good standard

·Tracking, tracing and updating the status of shipments on a daily basis

·Checking and forwarding all official shipping documents received from the bank to clearing agents by special post

·Arranging container and trailer deliveries to our depots and import warehouse by giving clear instructions to agents with regard to the end destination of each consignment and clearance code

·Monitor agents and ensure they perform to the required standards of IDS Business needs

·Registering shipping agent invoices and 3 way matching all import related invoices on Maginus.

·Processing invoices, including price conversations

·Daily liaising with Saint Gobain’s Chinese and Indian offices

·Offering support for Chinese/Indian Supply Chain. Raising Po’s where applicable, checking and signing Sales order confirmations

·Storing and maintaining of completed purchase orders and finance statistics via adhoc system.
