下面我们用倍数表达一句话“2009年的失业人数是2005年的两倍”
1. 'double'(verb)动词表示倍数，做谓语
The number of unemployed people doubled between 2005 and 2009.
2. 'twice as...as/compared to', 'three times as...as/compared to' 这类表示法可以用于同类，不同类，不同时间等任何需要表示倍数的时候，堪称全能表示法
The number of unemployed people in 2009 was twice as many as that in 2005.
接下来是两种高分变换的格式：
l There were twice as many unemployed people in 2009 as in 2005.（there be句型起手）
l Twice as many people were unemployed in 2009 compared to 2005.（类数据放句首的格式）
3. 'twofold','threefold' (adjective or adverb) 形容词和副词的倍数表示
There was a twofold increase in the number of unemployed people between 2005 and 2009. (形容词修饰名词'increase')
The number of unemployed people increased twofold between 2005 and 2009. (副词修饰动词 'increase')
