维州有超过四分之一的市政厅打算在调高向居民收取的市政费上，超过州政府设定的2.5%涨幅上限。

基本服务委员会（Essential Services Commission）发布了一份包括了21个地方市政厅的名单，他们全部打算在下一个财年中申请征收超过由维州地方政府厅长Natalie Hutchins设定的2.5%市政费涨幅上限。

这里面就包括了位于内城区的墨尔本市政厅、亚拉市政厅、Maribyrnong市政厅、Glen Eira市政厅和Darebin市政厅。

一部分西部区域市政厅也表露了自己计划打破2.5%上限的意图。不过这些市政厅并没有被要求对他们想征收的市政费给出具体数据。

基本服务委员会在一份声明中称，总计21个市政厅需要在3月31日之前决定是否要继续相关申请，并予以提交。

他们必须给出申请超过上限的原因，以及如何把纳税人的意见考虑在内。

而委员会则将在五月底之前对申请做出审批。
