#US-General Election - Social Media and the Election

In addition to traditional media, social media is also influencing the way people follow and engage with the presidential election. Presidential Candidates can also use social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter to see what Americans are most concerned about, and then use that information to present policy proposals to attract more voters.

The top five issues U.S. citizens have been talking about on social media have been 1) crime and criminal justice, 2) Government ethics, 3) Racial issues, 4) Guns, and 5) homeland security and terrorism.
