虽然美国的顶尖私立学校分布于很多个州，但是最优秀的教育资源依然是集中在加州和东部的新英格兰地区: 榜单前25名有22所在加州和东部的新英格兰地区，前100名加州和东部的新英格兰地区占了70所。
相对前两年的榜单前25名发生了很大变化: 排前十名的三所纽约私立学校全都跌出前25名之外，排名不变的只有Phillips Academy（菲利普斯学院）依然雄踞榜首。
