新学年刚刚开始，又一批中国留学生满心期待的踏上了北美求学生涯。然后，有人先离开了。。。
9月22日美国时间下午5时，
西北大学18岁中国的中国留学生邱楚圆（Chuyuan Qiu）刚刚开学才三天，撞上一辆水泥大卡车后，惨遭卷入轮底当场死亡。
这宗死亡车祸的发生，让所有师生无不感到惋惜与震惊。
CBS的报道：
Around 5 p.m. Thursday, Qiu was riding her bike west on Northwestern Place when she crashed into a cement truck headed north on Sheridan Road. Police said the truck driver had a green light at the time, Qui rolled under the truck after the collision.
报道称，这起事故发生在谢尔登路（Sheridan Rd.）和加勒特广场（Garrett Place）之间。
事故实际是发生在西北大学校园附近，当时邱楚圆正骑着自行车由东向西行，而一辆从南向北的水泥卡车刚好经过发生碰撞。
消防救护人员赶到时，邱楚圆已经没有了意识，并且身上多处伤痕。。。在送往医院后，邱楚圆被确认死亡。
之后医院通过邮件与西北大学确认了邱楚圆的身份。
邱楚圆是中国牛校南京外国语学校2015届的学生，被西北大学录取。当时南外七位颜值高、气质佳的学霸女生被称为＂七仙女＂，邱楚圆就是其中之一。
大家熟悉的京东老板刘强东的太太＂奶茶妹妹＂章泽天就是毕业于南京外国语学校。

当地负责事件调查的警官Richard Eddington表示，这起悲剧的原因可能是学生可能误判了卡车车身长度，女学生应该是撞上卡车后轮倒下，才被卷入轮底致命。
警方称，死者在事故发生之前并没有佩戴头盔。由于目前没有证据显示38岁的卡车司机违反交通法规，因此并未向肇事卡车开出任何罚单。
消息一出，网上一片叹息。。。
从北京东路小学到考上南京外国语学校，再被美国西北大学录取。从小到大，邱楚圆一直是大人口中那个＂别人家的孩子＂，学兼优，深受师生的喜爱。
2015年，作为南外的优秀毕业生，邱楚圆曾和一同被美国名校录取的6位女生被称为＂南外七仙女＂。
悲剧发生后，西北大学校方高度重视，称将为邱楚圆举行悼念活动，同时取消校内所有迎新活动。目前，校方已在与其家属沟通善后事宜。
西北学生办公室主任给每一个西北学生、教授发送了悼念邮件。原文如下：
Following is a message that was sent to all students last night regarding the unfortunate death of a Northwestern University student. The University extends its deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of our student, Chuyuan Qiu.
Message from Todd Adams, Dean of Students
It is with profound sadness that I write to inform you that first-year Weinberg student, Chuyuan “Chu” Qiu, passed away earlier today after being involved in a bicycle-vehicle accident on Sheridan Road. Chu joined our community this fall and was originally from Nanjing China. She was a member of the Kaplan Humanities Scholars Program. Information about memorial services will be shared as it becomes available.
We extend our deepest condolences to Chu’s family and friends. The loss of any one member of our community affects us all, and it does so in different ways. Grieving is normal when experiencing loss, and our friends and colleagues can be helpful in lending an ear or giving their time, particularly when we let them know it is needed. For students who need support during this difficult time – either now or at any point in the days and weeks ahead – I urge you to reach out to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the Dean of Students Office and/or the Chaplain’s staff. CAPS is providing grief counseling and the Dean’s Office is available should you need other assistance. You can also find additional services and resources at NUhelp or on the NUhelp app.
I am always thankful to be part of the Wildcat family during times like this. We are a community that supports one another. As we remember Chuyuan, we must take care of ourselves and each other. Please let my colleagues and I know if we can be of help to you.
