美国海洋小说体现了美国人对地理空间和异域文化的探索精神;这种探索和包容精神对当代社会非常具有借鉴作用。本次讲座主要包括以下四个方面的内容:


1.    美国海洋小说的发展历史以及海洋在当代影视作品中的体现;


2.    美国海洋小说中的民族想象和性别想象;


3.    海洋小说作为一种文学体裁体(genre)以及其特征;


4.    海洋理论和美国海洋小说的本土特色。

 


American sea novels exemplify the American spirit of questing for unknown territories and foreign cultures. This lecture will focus on the following topics:


1.            Development of American sea novels and ocean themes in contemporary movies;


2.            The role of race and gender in American sea novels;


3.            Sea novels as a literary genre and its characteristics;


4.            Theories on sea and the position of American sea novels. 


 

讲者简介: 王泉,英美文学博士,中国语言文学(海外汉学)博士,北京航空航天大学外国语学院英语系副教授,主要研究方向为美国文学、文学理论和中国文化。王泉出版了三本专著,发表了三十多篇论文,其中包括 8篇A&HCI索引论文,曾经于2008年~2009年在美国康奈尔大学(Cornell)进行博士后研究,2015年~2016年作为富布莱特学者在耶鲁大学(Yale)进行为期一年的学术研究。


Speaker:   Wang Quan is an associate professor of English at Beijing Aeronautics and Astronautics University.  Professor Wang specializes in American literature, critical theories and Chinese culture, and has published 3 books and more than 30 articles in prestigious academic journals, including 8 A&HCI articles. He was a visiting scholar at Cornell University from 2008 to 2009, and a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at Yale University from 2015 to 2016.

交通:地铁 10 号,亮马桥站 B 出口,向东北步行至 天泽路和安家楼路交汇处, 签证处北侧。 
Directions: Metro Line 10, Liangmaqiao Station Exit B, walk northeast to the Tian Ze Road intersection of An Jia Lou Road, north side of the Visas Office.
