欢迎各位英语老师参加2017年10月27日由美国驻华大使馆地区英语项目办公室（Regional English Language Office）举办的英语教师沙龙。本次沙龙由Dan和Vanessa共同主持。他们将与大家一起探讨音乐在英语课堂中的作用。此活动免费面向各学段英语教师及教研人员，但需预约。活动限25人，实名注册，报完即止。

Workshop on:New Ways of Using Music for English Classroom

Music can be usedto teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and speaking skills.  In thisinteractive workshop, audience members will get hands-on experience using musicto teach and practice English skills in their classes.  Music can be morethan just fun.  We will learn how to make it an effective teaching tool.

Trainer Bio

Daniel Forman is currently anEnglish Language Fellow at Harbin Normal University in Harbin, China where hedoes teacher training and K-12 teacher workshops, and is a Business Writinginstructor.  Before his fellowship, he worked at the American EnglishInstitute at the University of Oregon where he was a lead teacher of an OralSkills class and taught Reading and Writing Skills classes.  He receivedhis master’s degree in TESOL from the University of Texas and has over 6 yearsof ESL/EFL teaching experience.  He has interests in vocabulary teaching,autonomous learning, and assessment. 

VanessaBordo Flannes has a BA in French and International Studiesfrom the University of Illinois, an MA in Arts Administration from theUniversity of Akron, and a certificate in Teaching English as Foreign Language(TEFL) from Georgetown University. She has taught English to children in Italyand adult refugee and immigrant populations in Ohio and the Washington DC area.She served as the director of foreign language centers for children in Chicagoand Virginia, as well as the Director of Operations at a Washington DC Englishschool, where she oversaw International Student Services, including visa issuesand college admission advising.

You must bring both yourvalid photo ID and registration confirmation page in order to get into BAC.Large bags or laptops will not be allowed into BAC for this event. Please doNOT wait in the visa applicant line.Please wait in line by the RED sign saying “For ACS services,please enter here.” at the East Gate of the embassy.
